The Value Of Honesty

The value of Honesty

In this diverse world, we have many kinds of people and I want to explain two kinds which are very important. One is honest and the other is dishonest. We all are told that we should be honest but why are too many people in this world dishonest? I have decided to share my views on this topic with you all through a short story. I hope you like it and realise that honesty is a very important part of life. If you like it, please let me know your review in the comment section and please don't forget to read my previous story 'The Mysterious Friendship'.

Enjoy!

This is a tale of two friends - Rohan and Sukrit. Rohan was an honest boy but Sukrit sometimes lied. Although his lies were small, lies are lies. One day, Rohan tried to explain to Sukrit that he should not lie because lying is a very disapproving action. But Sukrit did not take him seriously and said to him, "Hey dude! No one has ever got hurt with my lies. Don't take it seriously." After that day, Rohan never ever tried to stop Sukrit from lying but he remained to be honest. With the passage of time, the two friends grew up and it was time for them to set up their career. Both Rohan and Sukrit started their individual business and were toiling hard to make it grow. In childhood, Sukrit did not stop himself from lying so, his lies also grew up with him. Now he started lying in terms of money and his profession. But Rohan was honest since he did not lie during childhood. Rohan wanted to grow his business to live a comfortable life and he succeeded. But Sukrit could not succeed to that extent because he always lied to his clients and colleagues and when his lies came to light, his clients often broke the deal with him. After some years, he was reading an article in the newspaper about the topic 'Honesty' and he found that the author gave an example of Rahul to explain his point. Sukrit was so shocked to read that article and suddenly he remembered the words that Rahul spoke to him during childhood. By then, Sukrit was completely changed and he slowly reduced and eventually stopped lying. Then he found a drastic change in his business and he began to feel more optimistic towards life.

This story tells us that 'we should seriously work on ourselves before it is too late'
